Insane Labz: Pennywise Review

Hey, I'm back with another supplement review! Today's review is on Insane Labz pre-workout called Pennywise. Yet again this company gives me a product with a cool name, so how could I not try it. This stuff also promises energy and focus, but does it live up to those claims? Before I get into my personal opinion, let's take a look at the ingredients. This product features 10 grams of carbs as dextrose which I have never seen in a pre-workout before, but it had some effects that I'll explain later.
Proprietary Blend...
Pennywise Blend ....................................................................................... 1.4g
Creatine Monohydrate: Increases strength and recovery. Clinical dose is 5 grams so this is clearly underdosed.
Caffeine Anhydrous: A stimulant used for increased performance and thermogenesis. Also increases energy and concentration. The dosage is not given here so this is kinda scary. Who knows how much caffeine is in this...
Caffeine Citrate: A faster-acting version of caffeine.
Infinergy: A form of caffeine that is easier on the stomach.
AMPiberry: Makes energy last longer and decreases water weight.
Russian Tarragon: May reduce blood insulin levels and lower blood glucose levels.
Theacrine: Similar to caffeine but without jitters and other side effects of caffeine.
Rauwolfia Vomitoria Extract: A fat burning ingredient.
Huperzine A 1%: Helps with cognitive function and memory.
Overall...
Looking at this ingredient list you would think "wow, this probably won't do much". Well, yeah, I'm sad to admit that this didn't do a much for me. There was a little energy and focus there, but not much. I did get sick pumps because of the added 10 grams of carbs, though! Most of the ingredients in here are likely under dosed and the caffeine is not fully disclosed, which can be concerning. On the bright side I had the Fear flavor, and damn this flavor tastes amazing! The most accurate comparison is an orange creamsicle. What's really to fear there? The mixability wasn't amazing, there were some floaters.
Value...
This product retails for around 60 bucks, and I think this is a terrible value. I wouldn't buy this product again. They could have done so much better with this, especially because their other pre-workout called Redrum is so much better with its ingredients at the same price. Despite my ill review of the contents, it tasted delicious, so I hope this review helps you with your decision on whether or not to buy this product. Have a great day and if you hit the gym, freakin' KILL IT!
